Industrial Air Springs in Agricultural Spray Equipment

Maintaining a Stable and Level Spray Boom: When sprayers operate over uneven fields, traditional mechanical suspension systems struggle to respond quickly to ground changes, causing the boom to shake or tilt violently. This results in uneven spraying, with some areas experiencing excessive spraying (causing damage and waste) and others experiencing insufficient spraying (poor control effectiveness). Air springs, leveraging the elasticity of the compressed air within them, quickly absorb and cushion ground impacts, automatically maintaining the boom level and ensuring a constant, optimal distance between the nozzle and the crop canopy.

Effectively Protecting the Boom Structure: Spray booms (especially those up to 20-30 meters long on large sprayers) are expensive and fragile components. Severe jolting and twisting can cause deformation or damage. The cushioning effect of air springs significantly reduces impact forces transmitted to the boom, extending the equipment's service life.

Automatic Terrain Following: Advanced sprayer suspension systems incorporate sensors and control systems, enabling the air springs to actively adjust air pressure and travel, allowing each section of the boom to independently "mimic" the contours of the terrain for precise terrain following. This is especially important when working in hilly and undulating terrain.
